Women are so smart.  The following quote is from a seventeen-year-old girl that called in to the show “The Doctor Is In” on Ave Maria Radio.  May God bless her richly with more of Him for wanting Him most above all else. - “The thing is that I want God to be number one in our relationship because I believe that … two people together is not a relationship unless...

A Prayer for Fathers
God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old. We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; May they find the courage and perseverance to balance work, family, and faith in joy and sacrifice. We pray for our own fathers who have supported and challenged us; May they continue to lead in strong and gentle ways. We remember fathers around the world whose...

Me: Happy Friday Eve!
[11: 12]
Fellow small group member: happy friday man!
[11: 12]
Fellow small group member: eve*
[11: 13]
Me: Thanks, dude. How was small group?
[11: 13]
Fellow small group member: good man, sorry you couldnt be there
[11: 13]
Me: No need to be sorry, man.
[11: 15]
Me: I'm booked most Wednesdays throughout the year, but I'll definitely come by when the plan falls through.
Any neato conversations take place that I missed out on?
[11: 16]
Fellow small group member: we did chapter 5, talked about prayer and stuff
[11: 16]
Me: I love how "and stuff" captures the gist of most of almost everything in conversations.
[11: 17]
Fellow small group member: ha ha, of course
[11: 17]
Me: "So what'd y'all do?"
"Stuff."
[11: 19]
Fellow small group member: we talked about repeticious prayer and how its pointelss
[11: 19]
Fellow small group member: we were on that tangent for a while
[11: 19]
Me: Yeah ... repeating something for the sake of repeating has less than no value.
[11: 20]
Fellow small group member: but like praying for every meal, if you say the same thing you might as well not pray
[11: 21]
Me: Hm. I'm not sure if that's entirely true. I met someone that said they don't always say grace before meals because they don't want it to become a habitual thing.
What if the underlining question of repeating something is whether one's heart is in it or not?
[11: 22]
Me: Are we really grateful for the blessings God give us? Do we really want the food that we're about to eat to nourish our bodies and minds to do more for His glory and kingdom? Or is it just mindless babble to get to the first bite.
[11: 23]
Fellow small group member: but i think if your heart it truly in it youll say something new every time
[11: 23]
Fellow small group member: no matter how much your heart is in it, repetition looses feeling
[11: 24]
Me: Really? -_-
I've lost count (never had it in the first place, actually) of the number of times I've prayed the Our Father / Lord's Prayer, but the more I pray it nowadays, the deeper I get into the depths of how Jesus wanted us to approach it.
[11: 25]
Fellow small group member: im just saying i think there is a fine line
[11: 25]
Me: Yeah. Repeating for the sake of babbling really is pointless. But then again, wouldn't you say it's pointless to come up with something new for the sake of not wanting to be repetitive?
[11: 27]
Fellow small group member: its possible
[11: 31]
Me: I reckon it's much like expressing "I love you" or "Thank you." There's superlatives and synonyms to try to switch things a bit, but the majority of the time, it's the simplicity of the words uttered so often that tend to mean much more when you can hear the person's heart in their voice or words.
[11: 31]
Me: I totally ought to give myself cool points for using "reckon" in a sentence. ^_^
[11: 32]
Fellow small group member: i say negative points for using reckon
[11: 32]
Me: How darest thou!
[11: 32]
Fellow small group member: well hate to cut this short but i got a dentist appt
Me: Have fun!!!

I read that as "Will BlackBerry questions bring you by?" but that doesn't sound right.

The Blue Pill That Wasn't For Me To Take.
Me sounding frantic: Um ... do you have any food or something I can hide that in to take it?? I'm not very good at swallowing pills.
LabCorp lady: This isn't for you — it's to dilute the water so people can't cheat the drug screen test. You'd turn blue if you ate it!
Me sounding relieved: Oh! Whew!

When I was still very young, a teacher asked me what I did on holidays when I was home.  I answered timidly, “I often hide in a corner of my room, where I can shut myself in with bed curtains, and then I think.” “But what do you think about?” she asked laughingly. “I think about God, the shortness of life, about eternity — in a word, I think.”  I know now...

Although it’s only echoes of Your reflections that I’ve caught glimpses of, there’s something about You that seems all so familiar to me - it’s like You’ve been my forever best friend whom I’ve always known.  I feel my heart flutter like butterflies in my stomach when I think of You, and I want to leap for joy whenever I hear reflections of Your voice echoing...

For the chance, honor, opportunity, and privilege to be in the presence of and spending time with the lover of my soul, I’ll travel as far and keep going on for as long as he wants me to. Not even death will be able to keep me from the one that I heart because he loved us first.

Today, like most people, we realize our limits in hundreds of ways, yet somehow we are unlimited in our desire for higher life. We face an abundance of choices but cannot have them all. Painfully we do what we detest, and do not do what we should desire. We live with inner conflict and struggle. - Alfred McBride, O.Praem.

Modern Day Jonah: Free Will Versus God
Exhausted.  Pooped.  Wiped out.  Worn out. That’s how tired and weary my soul is feeling after wrestling with God for the past few days.  I want to throw in the towel and call it quits and yield to him, but my free will is demonstrating to be far more persistent and stubborn than I am.  Screaming out loud in exasperated frustration while listening to “Scream” by Thousand Foot...

In the context of trying to do the Almighty’s bidding and following him despite not knowing what’s around the next bend and corner, does expressing to him, “God, I really hope you know what you’re doing” question his omniscience, or can it be considered to be an expression of faith and a plea made in hope and trust that he knows best?

What’s wrong with me?  Learning to come to grips with the realization that some of the deepest desires of my heart and soul aren’t meant to be on this side of eternity and heaven’s door as hard as I may try and as much as I may want hurts much more than words can describe and makes me want to corner to curl up into a ball and cry.  However, if the only cost and price that my...

Questions for my maker and the lover of my soul
God, why am I still here? I really thought you would have called me to come home by now. Have you forgotten that I am still here? Have you not noticed that I’m not there with you on the other side of eternity in heaven yet? How much longer must I wait to be with you, Jesus? Lover of my soul, when will it be my turn to spend forever with you?

God, I don’t understand. How can it be … how is it possible that someone like you can love me as much as you do and be as good to me like you are? I sometimes think you forget I’m a sinner that’s as worse they come and that I deserve no more than to be cast into and damned into hell forever. But yet you choose to love me still and shower me with your goodness, graces, and...

Coworker: Good.
Coworker: French is gross.
Me: I heart Français! It's such a romantic language that I got a D in.
Coworker: Eww.
Coworker: French is an ugly language.
Me: Aw. You're being mean to the language Belle spoke in Disney's Beauty And The Beast.
Coworker: Spanish is way mo betta.
Me: That movie's like the primary reason why I decided to try out French. Then it was because I wanted to be a romantic. It turned out I wasn't the latter after the teacher let me pass with a D out of pity.
Coworker: I took a few years of Spanish and one of Latin.
Me: I'm tumblring the foreign language part about our IM conversation because I think it's amusing.

me: It was fantabulously wicked-awesome; thank you very much. Yours?
coworker: It was good, finished up about 95% of the baby stuff.
me: Awesome. What else needs to be done?
me: Other than the little one arriving.
coworker: Put the car seat bases in the cars, wash the bottles, and wash/put a little bit more clothes away.
me: Neato.
me: Great job on the room. I'm hiring y'all to do mine.
coworker: Went on a shopping spree to gather the remainder of the stuff we needed.
coworker: LoL ok.
coworker: We will take finished pictures when it's done or you can swing by when it's finished.
me: Can I test out the bed?
coworker: LoL
coworker: No.
me: I'll do it for free - no charge!
coworker: You won't fit and it's not supposed to support that much weight.
coworker: So, no. =P
me: Are you trying to imply that I'm fat!? Hmph!
coworker: I'm implying you weigh more than a baby.
me: == fat!
coworker: LoL
coworker: W/e you say.

The IM conversation with a wickedly-awesome lady...
me: It'd be embarrassing if me giving a thumbs-up on a Taylor Swift song on Pandora in the past is the reason that it's playing another one by her now - "Forever & Always" this time. I like it, though. I think I'll thumbs-up this one.
coworker: HAHA yeah it's a good one
me: I promise I'm not paying attention to the lyrics though. I just like the sound of the instruments.
me: I even think it'd be corny for me to like it because of the lyrics. I think her songs are way too innocent for me. ~_~
coworker: haha i think they're perfect for u :)
me: Haha. There may be moments when they are, but I like being pretending to be a mature grown-up sometimes.
coworker: aw thats stupid. never do it :)
coworker: jk
me: I actually agree. I can tell you from personal experience that it's not very fun.
me: It's fun to make people think I'm twenty-eight sometimes though. But it's reeeally difficult at times. ~_~
coworker: yeah i bet it is
coworker: i thought u were sooooooooo young when i met u
me: Please say you thought I was younger than you - that'd so make my decade!
coworker: heck yeah i did
coworker: seriously thought u were like 21 or 22
me: w00t!!!
me: That follow-up comment made my century.
me: ... Wait ... am I really that immature!? Hmph!
coworker: no no
coworker: not immature
coworker: just look young and act so innocent is all
me: I shall strive to be the latter - hopefully the former also - when I grow up. ^_^

It’s so easy to forget sometimes that I’m not qualified to be even the last person that should be considered to be in control of this life that I’ve been granted to live.  However, it’s like second-nature sometimes when the first set of questions I want to ask God are “Why?  How could you let this happen?  Why did you let this happen?” when something bad or what...
